Ultimately this course is for the dreamers, shakers, and doers. It’s for those who either have a burning desire to build something of their own, or business idea that they want to bring to life, and need some guidance navigating the world of entrepreneurship and startups, which can seem overwhelming at times.

How long will it take?

Accepted Answer

This course has been developed to allow you to take it in your own time, with no stringent timelines. There’s nothing stopping you blitzing through the course in a single week, or on the flip-side taking a whole year to complete it whilst refining your startup alongside.

However, as we recommend that you actually build your startup alongside this course in a step-by-step approach, and complete all the practical exercises, where we estimate that it will take founders around 6 – 8 weeks to complete. We also recommend that you complete the course in a slow and steady timeframe and don’t rush things, particularly if it’s completed around the commitments of full-time job.

Each founder’s situation, motivations and strategies will differ, and it will depend on the product or service that you’re building, whether you’re creating this yourself (or outsourcing), or whether you need to raise money to launch. It can take the average founder around 6-12 months to launch a business after coming up with an idea, but with our help you can drastically reduce that, using our timesaving hacks, guidance and resources.

Do you offer investment at the end?

We don’t offer investment as part of this course, but we’ll make sure you’re fully equipped and ready to take on investment from investors or other finance providers.

How is it different to other Accelerators?

Accepted Answer

This accelerator course has been designed to offer maximum value for money, fill the big gaps that other programmes don’t fill, but also to break down the barriers and restrictions that traditional accelerators have for founders and startups.

Traditional startup accelerators can be famously hard to get into, with highly restrictive startup criteria, such as: type of industry, product or business model; stage of the business; and its location. They also have multiple rounds of interviews and often choose founders with high levels of prior startup experience or qualifications, and make founders stick to their rigid schedules or learning.

We aim to break this out-dated model and make our accelerator program accessible to all, and promote the inclusivity of under-represented founders.

Who has created this Accelerator?

The Launchology Accelerator is a new version of a long-standing accelerator programme, that has been carefully crafted over 12 months by: individuals, startups and organisations who have come from various sides of the start-up world. This includes: investors, bankers and finance providers, mentors, and advisors, and of course, start-up founders and entrepreneurs themselves.

We have spent 100’s of hours interviewing key players in the startup word, mainly founders and entrepreneurs, who have been there and done it themselves. From all these participants, you’ll learn real-life case studies (the good and the bad) and have genuine insight into their wisdom throughout the course.

Can we pitch to investors at the end?

This course is designed to get you to the point where you and your startup are investable, and you understand what type of investment you may need and where to source it. We’ll help you with everything from how to find investors or external finance, what and how to pitch, and how much you will need.

You’ll be left with a list of investors that you can filter to your specific startup and funding requirements and make the appropriate outreach to them.

As this course is sector- and stage-agnostic (i.e. open to founders and startups at all stages and in all industries), we are not able to offer investment pitches as part of the course. However, you can speak with us once you’ve completed the course for the option of having your startup assessed by us, and then connected with investors directly if you’re ready.

Question 7

Do I need to have a startup idea already?

Accepted Answer

To begin this accelerator, we do recommend that you at least have an idea as to what startup you're looking to build. However, while most other accelerators require you to have developed your startup idea already or even (in many cases) have launched it and are generating revenue, we offer guidance right from the start in the idea validation stage. What do I need to start?

Prior knowledge of entrepreneurship, or your intended product, service or industry is certainly a plus, but not a requirement. All that we would advise is that you have at least a basic understanding of business and finance, a willingness to learn and a strong motivation and commitment to spend time on your startup each week. Everything else we can teach you, step-by-step.

We’ve got a variety of content for you, as we believe learning is done through a combination of reading, watching, listening, and doing. We aim to make the course as interactive as possible, so in each module look out for and make the most of the different features, which include:
